QUEEN ELIZABETH II
Here is a part of the speech :
During this speech, Charles III paid tribute to the Queen and to her record reign which will remain engraved in the memories of all. He also underlined his pain and his new duties as King of England: "As the Queen herself has done with unfailing devotion, I too take the solemn oath to uphold, for the remaining time that God will grant me, the constitutional principles at the heart of our nation. »
But it was the end of the speech that was particularly noted, since the king quoted a verse from Shakespeare when he spoke of the angels who would guide the Queen to rest: "As you begin your last journey to join papa, I wanted just say thank you. Thank you for your love and dedication to our family and to the family of nations you have served for all these years. May flights of angels lead you singing to your rest.
This verse is a reference to the lyrics of "Song for Athene", which was performed at Princess Diana's funeral as her motorcade left Westminster Abbey on September 6, 1997.
